AECOM Junior Geotechnical Engineer in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

AECOM’s Geotechnical Practice is currently seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to take on a technical role on multi-discipline projects working out of our Yellowknife office. A good understanding and knowledge in geotechnical/geological engineering and modeling in cold climates related to mining, buildings, energy, transportation and water infrastructure is required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate and complete geotechnical investigations and design for shallow and deep foundations in soil and rock, permafrost investigations, retaining walls, soil and rock slope stability, and settlement evaluations
Participate in cold climate engineering design
Provide resident geotechnical inspection services on mining and infrastructure construction sites
Prepare and write geotechnical engineering reports and client proposals
Work with other engineering disciplines at AECOM to provide services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local, regional and global collaborative opportunities.
Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants and external agencies.

Minimum BSc Civil or Geological Engineering Degree or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
Eligible to be registered as a professional engineer in Canada
Valid driver license
M.Sc. an asset
Good working knowledge of common geotechnical software such as Geostudio and GINT
Experience working in remote locations
Strong leadership skills
Strong communication skills
Strong safety behavior
Willing to work away from home
