Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our well established team in Cumbria.

The successful candidate will be based in our Westlakes office, near Whitehaven but will work closely with other teams from within our Power Sector Unit located in Warrington, Bristol, Edinburgh and London.

The Power Sector is a multi-disciplinary team comprising Civil/Structural/ Mechanical/ Electrical and Process Engineers, together with Architects, Project Managers and Building Surveyors.

The market sector covers nuclear, industrial, power, infrastructure development and Local Government work. In addition to this AECOM are currently working on the following key projects in Cumbria:

  • Engineering and Construction Framework at Low Level Waste Repository at Drigg.

  • SNS Magnox Framework: Engineering Support to the Deep Geological Disposal Facility.

  • Civil Maintenance Authority Framework at Sellafield.

  • Independent Review and Benchmarking Framework to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

  • Cumbria County Council Professional Services Framework.

The Cumbria business comprises a vibrant team with strong opportunities for challenging project work and career progression within a growing team.

This is an interesting and challenging role within which you will be involved in designing unique processes, bespoke buildings and complex engineering solutions for decommissioning and new build facilities including associated infrastructure.

Previous experience in a similar role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering and are chartered or approaching
