Job Description
Job Summary
AECOM 's Architectural Design practice Buildings + Placesis seeking a Supporting Architect to be responsible for the architectural design of Operations & Maintenance Facilities projects.
The design of Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities will be a major focus for this role.
AECOM B+P Canada is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.
This position could be based out of any of our Canadian offices, with some work from home options available.
Further responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
As part of a design team, will produce creative, functional and innovative designs for Operations, Storage, and Maintenance Facilities clients and collaborate with management on preparation of project proposals and feasibility studies
Provide support to the Architectural Manager on all phases of building design projects as required and assist in growing this sector
Leading a team in the preparation of detailed architectural designs and specifications
Meet with clients to discuss potential new work and/or review project requirements
Preparation of design and contract documents, document checking, manage construction review and contract administration throughout the duration of a project
Communicate with construction team to provide information and solve problems
Communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
No less than 6 (six) years of Architectural design experience, including experience working on Operations, Storage, and Maintenance Facilities
Must be a Licensed Architect with the OAA and/or other Provinces, with OAA eligibility
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
LEED certification and project experience is a strong asset
Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing
Strong, hands-on technical knowledge, document review, consultant coordination and experience in field review and contract administration
Demonstrated strong creativity in design
Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the Ontario Building Code
Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
