Job Description

AECOM are looking to hire a Senior Radiation Technician within the Remediation Team based in Whitby, Ontario. This challenging position will be responsible for the execution of remediation activities at various sites across Canada with the majority of project work occurring in the Northwest Territories.

We are looking for candidates that are highly motivated, resourceful, results-oriented, and decisive. Imagine working on rewarding projects and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

Radiation Technicians are expected to actively support site activities at remote locations, in Northern Territories, Manitoba and Ontario by promptly responding to requests for RP services. Much of this work is expected to be outdoors sometimes in harsh environments. This position will be responsible for insuring that the project team and all contractors comply with site specific radiation protection program. Tasks will also require ongoing project reporting.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years overall field experience with at least 2 years nuclear industry experience in radiation protection and environmental remediation.

  • Experience working with Radiation Protection Plans (RPP), processes and instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior knowledge and management of environmental remediation projects and other remedial field activities.

  • Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations.

  • Thorough understanding of radiation protection and environmental remediation projects.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lead large assignments and work well in a team environment.

  • Working knowledge of environmental, health & safety regulations.

  • Willingness to travel.

The various project sites are nominally operated from sunrise to sunset 7 days a week, on a weekly or bi-weekly rotation.
