Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and Systems Assurance Engineer Engineering procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops bid cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of Systems Assurance Engineer budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Role purpose:

The Systems Assurance Engineer will be responsible for conducting all program level Systems Assurance requirements, deliverables, activities, and associated evidence including development and update of Gates Process model and LCC (life cycle cost). The Systems Assurance Engineer will also support the Systems Engineering Strategy team in providing Operational Readiness information.

Dimensions:

Delivering technical Rail Systems Assurance Engineering work package within Client upgrade programs, the core System Assurance and scoping team. Technical advice and support to Project Engineers. Management of any external 3rd party service provision (agency or contract) in respect of Systems Assurance compliance evidence associated with the Client upgrade program.

Supporting and liaising with all program and project teams, between Client upgrade programs, the external supply chain and other 3rd party stakeholders.

Direct report to Senior Management

Multiple indirect reports.

Accountabilities:

Planning

  • Conduct all necessary Systems Assurance analysis and activities required by Company standards, the customer and legislative bodies from Concept Design through to post-commissioning phases as part of the new Scoping Organization.

  • Develop, produce and implement an Systems Assurance and Operational Readiness Demonstration Plan/s for major Client upgrade program configurations.

Project/Programme Delivery

  • Ensuring that all Systems Assurance program targets and requirements are secured and delivered fully in accordance with agreed Client upgrade programs policies and procedures.

  • Develop the Gates Process Model for the existing Client upgrade programs railway

  • Update the Gates Process Model for each major configuration of the Client upgrade programs railway.

  • Communicate and interface appropriately in the interests of identifying and mitigating potential Systems Assurance Compliance and Operational Readiness issues.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree + 6 years of relevant experience Systems Assurance Engineer (15288 & 50126)

  • P Eng or eligible within 12 months

  • Driving License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Used to implement and work under the principles of following standards: IEEE 1220, ISO 15288 + 24748 + 29148: Systems Engineering Life Cycle processes & Requirements management
