Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and deliver outstanding cost consultancy services to clients in the public and private sector? If so, this exciting new Quantity Surveyor role will give you the opportunity to put your career into high gear, challenge yourself, and fully leverage your cost management experience.

As a highly motivated Quantity Surveyor, you will focus on delivering the range of project lifecycle services to our clients though design and construction, including first principles estimating and risk management services.

The role will primarily focus on a range of vertical and horizontal projects and the day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Provision of cost estimates at various stages of design

  • Preparation of quantities from a range of drawings with varying levels of detail

  • Cost advice at all stages of the project life-cycle

  • Advice during the procurement phase and tender evaluation

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a cost estimator / quantity surveyor / cost manager in vertical construction. Experience also with civils/ horizontal construction would be an advantage.

  • Familiarity with relevant NZ industry standards e.g. NZIQS Elemental Analysis, SMM, SM014, etc.

  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external clients

  • Experience in the preparation of estimates from first principles

  • Commercial acumen and ability to work alongside and collaborate with other team members

  • Knowledge and experience of Cost Estimating and Quantity Surveying software such as Cost X, Uniphi and @risk
