AECOM Principal Quantity Surveyor in Wellington, New Zealand

Job Summary

AECOM’s Cost Management practice has a rare opportunity for an experienced Principal Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our highly successful team in Wellington.

As a senior member of our award-winning Cost Management business, you will be responsible for leading and delivering quantity surveying and cost management services on some of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic civil infrastructure and buildings projects. This role will undertake the management of resources, budgets and timelines and enhancing client and working relationships. This role will also assist with business development, leading and preparing proposals and include presentations to clients to win work.

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for an effective cost manager with tenacity and drive to achieve outstanding results, who is able to develop meaningful relationships with key clients internally and externally.

You will be a natural team player with proven interpersonal skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Bachelor of Quantity Surveying or similar

  • Extensive cost management experience within a consulting environment

  • Demonstrated skills in leading and managing project costs and budgets

  • Conversant with current market conditions including rates and prices

  • Good understanding of estimating models/ methodologies and contract conditions

  • Collaborative; willing to share knowledge, experience, ideas and expertise for the betterment of group and self

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, Cost X

  • High level problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Member of RICS would be advantageous
