AECOM Director - New Zealand Government Relations in Wellington, New Zealand

Job Summary

This director level position will primarily focus on developing a strong pipeline of National Government related consulting service opportunities. You will leverage your high market visibility and strong relationships with members of parliament (particularly those with an influence over infrastructure projects), ministries and government in accordance with AECOM strategy.

As an engaging and knowledgeable NZ government expert, you will will actively promote AECOM’s infrastructure related service offering, including business case development, feasibility, market analysis and project and program delivery.

This key position within our National Government client team will drive and facilitate cross-business collaboration to enable the delivery of integrated services. You will engage with and provide support to the various AECOM service offering leaders, bringing market and sector insights to inform the National Government End Market strategy.

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this critical role, you will be a respected leader with significant Government related experience who can demonstrate uncompromising integrity, and has a proven track record in the following:

  • Strong relationships with central government and ministers, and with NZ government agencies including MBIE, MOT, Treasury

  • High market visibility and a deep understanding of Government and market trends

  • Successfully working with public sector clients and regarded as a strategic forward thinker on public policy matters

  • Strong strategic and technical leader with excellent interpersonal skills, who can work with and support staff of all levels with a receptive approach

  • Devise and prosecute effective business development strategies, with short and long term commercial and strategic objectives

  • Effective communication; promoting a healthy climate of communication, including information and idea sharing up, down, and across the organisation
