AECOM is seeking experienced a Mobile Equipment Mechanics with strong forklift repair skills to join our team of multi-skilled technicians in an Electrical Apparatus manufacturing facility in Waukesha, WI.
This position works 12-hour shifts.
On our schedule rotation of 3 on and 2 off; 2 on and 3 off - you’ll work 15 days a month and get paid for the whole thing!
The Mobile Equipment Mechanic 4 is responsible for ensuring each facility’s vehicles and material handling equipment (including electric forklifts, electric carts, floor scrubbing equipment, Gators, etc.) are well maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
Requires proficiency in performing advanced diagnosis and major repairs on industrial-grade equipment, including but not limited to
forklifts, man lifts, mobile cranes, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles, and floor scrubbers.
Minor repairs include removal, repair, and replacement of wheels, motors, brushes, caster bearings, pumps, brake systems, drive units, batteries, chargers, propane fueling etc.
Preventive maintenance on equipment is also required.
This position requires the use of industrial tools and equipment (such as cranes and hoists) and excellent working knowledge of hand and power tools.
Must be able to provide training, mentoring, and evaluation in forklift maintenance for lower level technicians.
Performs advanced diagnosis and major repairs on industrial equipment.
Removes, repairs and replaces motors, pumps, drive unit, and brake systems.
Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Changes tires using a hydraulic press.
Uses welding equipment.
Completes daily work logs with detailed information on a timely basis.
Communicates and advises MHE related concerns to fellow employees and management.
Provides training, mentoring, and evaluation in forklift maintenance for lower level technicians.
Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments
Actively participates in safety meetings. Maintains safety work practices as defined by AECOM
Ensures that work orders and monthly PM’s are completed as required.

High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Five years of maintaining and repairing cars, trucks, aerial lifts, mobile cranes, forklifts, and/or other material handling equipment, or demonstrated an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
It requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time and frequent bending, twisting, reaching and turning.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
It requires ability to move heavy objects, such as motors, etc. (maybe more than 50 pounds.
Requires ability to work from heights, ladders and elevated platforms.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during a shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
It requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
It requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
It requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Must wear steel-toed safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves as well as any other required PPE.
Keyboard skills and visual activity associated with the use of keyboards and terminals.
Must be able to respond to emergency alarms.
Requires the ability to operate forklifts, power and hand material moving equipment.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one‑on‑one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Coping with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
It requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Associate’s degree or technical school diploma in automotive or mobile equipment repair, or a related skilled trades program.
Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on electric forklifts and hydraulics.
Experience performing advanced diagnosis and repairs of industrial equipment including forklifts, man lifts, mobile cranes, all-terrain vehicles etc.
Training and/or work experience with industrial tools and equipment, including cranes and hoists.
Experience safely using welding equipment and diagnostic/calibration equipment.
Basic knowledge of all hand tools, most power tools, and volt/amps/ohm test meters.
Experience working in a team environment.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work on holidays and weekends.
