Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Structural Practice Leader for employment in the Des Moines or Waterloo, IA office. The appropriately qualified candidate will report to the Operations Manager but will direct the work of staff to complete projects within budget and schedule.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of structural staff in Iowa in addition to support of structural projects within region

  • Capability and interest in building Iowa backlog in addition to project and client management activities

  • Project management, planning, design and client contact for structural projects. Primary project locations will be Iowa, but will need to support projects outside of Iowa

  • Perform and oversee the work necessary to complete preliminary and final design of structures

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • 10+ years of related experience in structural design

  • Iowa Civil Engineering License or capability to obtain license within 90 days

  • Must have past experience showing ability to work with other design staff, client management and development of new clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related experience in structural design

  • ​Preference will be given to candidates with structural engineering license and Iowa DOT experience
