AECOM Energy Project Manager in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia

AECOM has a position available for an Energy Project Manager to join our growing Energy Team, preferably in the Arlington, VA / Washington D.C area but other offices in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States will also be considered.
In this role you will help lead energy efficiency, electrification, and other strategic energy projects and programs with clients. The Energy team works on a variety of energy efficiency, grid modernization, smart city, resilience, and sustainability related initiatives for municipal, utility, and private clients. Sample topics covered by this team include energy audits and sustainability operations, smart electric mobility (e.g., EV Charging, Electric Shared-Mobility), smart street lighting, smart sensors & networks, microgrids, distributed generation, energy efficiency, district energy systems, net-zero buildings & communities, monitoring base commissioning infrastructure, energy-water nexus, and coordinated infrastructure investment.
The Project Manager will work closely with team members to advance collaborations for clients and partners in the energy industry and with City government. The PM will be responsible for directing technical staff to achieve project execution, meeting all quality, safety, budget, and schedule goals.
Success in this position requires a dynamic individual with high energy and motivation with an acute passion for developing energy efficiency, strategic energy management, smart energy, and sustainability solutions. Critical requirements include teamwork skills, knowledge of the energy/infrastructure industries, and the ability to develop high quality and creative project deliverables in a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry. The candidate will need a strong and demonstrated interest in the topics covered by this team.

BA/BS degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience should include one or more of the following areas:
utility / municipal government work
advanced manufacturing and/or life science project experience
Experience should also include a background in one or more of the following energy, sustainability, resilience, smart city technology, climate, or project management
BA/BS preferred in engineering, economics, policy, business, or related field
Masters degree desired in Mechanical engineering, economics, policy, business or related
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred
Project management certification or training desired
US Security Clearance is a plus
A general knowledge of the financial, technical and political aspects driving both the energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, smart energy and utility industries and energy infrastructure development (Utility energy efficiency programs, statewide energy planning, building optimization, data analytics and renewables and, energy conservation measures)
Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex processes or ideas simplistically
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
