Job Summary

AECOM are currently seeking an

Senior Consultant, Environment, Health and Safety . The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Practice Leader will deliver consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients to a high level of technical quality and to programme and budget. The candidate is expected to lead the practice team.

Job Duties

The individual will be equally comfortable working on small or major projects, contributing positively both as a technical specialist and managing/ directing projects in the industry, real estate, power, infrastructure and other key sectors involving:

  • EHS compliance assessments and regulatory reviews (preferably as a Health and Safety leading consultant).

  • Due Diligence assessments and reporting.

  • Soil and groundwater investigations and/or characterizations.

  • Human health and environmental risk assessments.

Specific EHS Practice Lead duties will involve:

  • Development of the EHS Practice strategy in line with the Business Line strategy.

  • Leading a team of Environmental Consultants to deliver services to a high level of technical quality and to programme and budget.

  • Work closely with our clients’ team and demonstrate strong behavioural competencies with respect to client care, collaborative working, responsibility and independent decision making.

  • Preparation of fee proposals for new work elements and may from time to time involve some business development activity.

  • Coordination and management of project resources and activities in accordance with the Project Execution Plan to ensure timely delivery.

  • Project Health and Safety Plan preparation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record in leadership of environmental consultants’ teams and management of Environmental, Health and Safety projects delivery.

  • Practical knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental regulations in Poland (including key EU Directives)

  • Experience in business development with new and existing clients and preparation of tenders and fee proposals.

  • Versatile and highly experienced in pursuing opportunities and managing the delivery of environmental and geoenvironmental projects with strong written and verbal communication skills; in particular, the ability to write concise technical reports is essential.

  • Experience in geology/ hydrogeology investigation and basic risk assessments.

  • International working experience: Continental Europe, Eastern Europe

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant environmental, engineering or science degree.

  • A relevant post graduate qualification in the one of the above would be advantageous.

  • Chartership or other professional accreditation/ registration with a recognised body.
