AECOM Pavement Designer in Warsaw, Poland

Job Summary

Job Duties:

  • Provide technical expertise and support for all matters related to the pavement design of new infrastructures, upgrading existing highways/roads and construction supervision services

  • Develop, plan, organize, and carry out pavement evaluations and investigations, and geotechnical investigations for roadway/infrastructure projects

  • Perform review of detailed engineering analysis, design and reporting for assigned projects

  • Participate in project meetings, make presentations, provide advice to the clients and participate in business development initiatives

  • Prepare cost estimates, proposals, and reports

  • Pavement design using different methods based on provided design criteria

  • Review design reports, specification and tender documents for pavement works

  • Training and evaluating less experienced staff

  • Responsible for quality control of tasks

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University

  • 5+ years in transportation projects; preferably roads and highways

  • The successful candidate will have a background pavement engineering and familiarity with pavement management concepts

  • Understand and analysis of geotechnical conditions

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of pavement engineering and earthworks

  • Experienced in the provision and management of project design services, including managing pavement assessment (destructive and non-destructive methods), design of new pavements and rehabilitation of existing pavements (flexible, rigid), whitetopping, overlays etc

  • Experience across highways, industrial, maritime and airfields sectors and ASSHTO criteria would be advantageous

  • Knowledge of Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA)

  • Demonstrated experience in using pavement design software. Particularly, experience on Pavement Design software packages used in the US (like AASHTOWare Pavement) will be considered favorably.

  • Proven track record of working on linear infrastructure projects and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams

  • Experience working with international regulations and standards (particularly ASSHTO and US DOT’s criteria)

  • Fluent in English and Polish (oral and written)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the North America region will be considered favorably

  • US Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
