Job Description

Our Nuclear Team are actively looking to expand with the appointment of a Senior EC&I Engineer . We are looking for staff that are highly motivated, who can apply their skills independently - and as part of a team - to deliver projects to the benefit of our clients. Our projects are multi-disciplinary and may be at any stage in the project life cycle.

As Senior EC&I Engineer, you will report into the Head of EC&I Engineering at the Warrington office. You will be responsible for delivery of EC&I design & engineering within that department, including the production of design documentation, design substantiation, as well as checking of the work of other engineers & designers.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.

Qualifications

Advantageous Experience/Knowledge:

  • Low Voltage Electrical Distribution design.

  • Control system design.

  • Building Services & Management system design.

  • Earthing & Lightning design.

  • Communications systems design (Ethernet and field bus communications).

  • Experience of commissioning electrical and control systems.

  • Knowledge of safety standards (IEC 61508, 61511, 61513).

  • Knowledge of ATEX.

  • Project management skills.

  • Safety Instrumented Systems substantiation.

  • Availability, Reliability and Maintainability.

  • Fault trees, FMEA, HAZOP knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Qualifications.

  • Experience with a proven track record in the delivery of Electrical Projects.

  • Obtained or working towards Chartership (with the IET).

  • Relevant experience in the nuclear industry.

  • Be able to demonstrate sound technical knowledge and leadership experience.

  • Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.

  • Your previous experience will demonstrate competency in a number of the following areas:

  • Functional Design Specification, Basis of Design & User Requirement Specification production.

  • Document and Drawing checking.

  • An appreciation of mechanical / civil and process systems and the aptitude work within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • A working knowledge of BS7671.
