Job Summary
Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Power & Decommissioning Team in Warrington, we are looking to increase our technical workforce and are seeking to recruit a Principal Analyst Engineer for project work in Spring/Summer 2021.
A Principal Analyst Engineer is required to work on complex analytical projects and deliver tangible benefits to our clients. Our structural engineering solutions enable clients to undertake ambitious construction projects in the UK and worldwide.
This is an exciting time for the Nuclear Power & Decommissioning team in Warrington, with an interesting and expanding pipeline of both international and UK based projects.
Role Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for leading projects with a significant analytical component
Undertake, or lead others in undertaking, finite element without supervision within prescribed programme constraints
Engage with clients to define requirements, present proposals, discuss project progress, and undertake presentation of project results
Prepare analysis and design reports for client submission
Co-ordinate project delivery with internal and external clients
Undertake structural design of complex structures using current British Standards, Eurocodes and American Standards
Have a desire to learn new skills and ability to consider the wider engineering issues related to the analyses being undertaken
Mentor others in their professional development and learning

Minimum Requirements
Experienced in either:
The advanced use of numerical analysis methods using commercially available software packages (e.g. ANSYS (Mandatory requirement), LUSAS, ABAQUS, COMSOL, STAAD).
Detailed knowledge of construction materials science (e.g. specialist knowledge of concrete performance and design or the design of steel structures).
Able to interpret the results of numerical analysis into practical engineering solutions including the undertaking of assessments of failure modes (cliff edge effects)
Able to decide on the appropriate level of reliance and accuracy to attach to a variety of results obtained from FE analysis
Capable of expressing complex analysis methods and concepts in a manner which technical non-specialists can understand
Familiar with programming tools – e.g. one or more of VB, VBA, Fortran, C++ etc.
Keen to share experiences gained to date in their career with more junior members of the team and learn new analytical skills
Be able to determine appropriate methods to address structural engineering problems, and address these problems including those that do not require a finite element solution
Able to demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Applicants for this position must have the right to work in the UK without restriction and ideally have Nuclear project experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideally, the successful candidate will be:
A competent and experienced user of ANSYS
Able to express complex analysis methods and concepts in a manner which a non-specialist can understand
Familiar with at least one non-linear, time and frequency domain method of analysis
Have Nuclear project experience
Have minimum baseline security clearance, but potentially SC clearance
