AECOM is seeking a qualified and motivated Project Manager for our office in Norfolk, VA to support the delivery of the SWIFT capital improvement program. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction and operation of water, wastewater and/or water reuse treatment and conveyance infrastructure. The position includes large project planning and design, construction services oversight, schedule/budget management and client interface, all in an interesting and rewarding Program Management work environment.

Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
8+ years’ of relevant experience
Experience with both design-bid-build and alternative delivery procurement options for projects at water/wastewater treatment plants with capacities greater than 10 mgd.
Experience in troubleshooting complex project related problems and provides engineering support.
Experience in coordination with Virginia regulatory agencies.
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
10+ years’ of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated project management experience is highly preferred.
Professional Engineer in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire
Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Project Management Professional or training in project management
DBIA or Associate DBIA certification
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Expected to communicate regularly with client, internal customers, and other stakeholders informally, in writing, one-on-one, and in meetings
The ability to work well in a team-oriented and inclusive Program Management Organization culture.
Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding and diverse professionals.
Builds and maintains technical and leadership skills through training opportunities, external training, and involvement in professional society functions.
Familiarity with Oracle P6 scheduling software.
Valid Driver’s License.
