Job Summary

Are you interested in gaining Work Experience with one of the world’s largest Engineering firms? We are seeking applicants for AECOM's Dr Jonathan Harris Scholarship and Work Experience Program.

An outstanding opportunity to join a Global Leader awaits a passionate and goal-oriented Undergraduate. We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused undergraduate who has a passion for learning. You will gain hands-on experience in working for a leading Professional Services company. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with our technical experts and begin to develop knowledge about our business and the industry.

The winner of this scholarship will receive $2,500 per academic year for two years of study in addition to paid work experience at one of AECOM’s world-class offices, reaching a total payment of over $15,000. Ideally, you will be available for Work experience over the coming summer but there will be flexibility around dates with options to work around other Univerisity breaks or in various casual/part-time arrangements during semester.

Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist team and project managers by developing good working relationships with clients during the delivery of projects

  • Develop good relations with your team and other teams across multiple business areas and locations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

To be eligible for this scholarship/undergraduate work, you must:

  • Be an undergraduate student at James Cook University who is completing a Bachelor's degree or Dual degree program with a focus on Civil Engineering.

  • Be an undergraduate student completing their second or third year of study

  • Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status.

  • Have a GPA average of 5 or above at the time of application

  • Submit a cover letter that outlines what receiving this scholarship would mean to you
