AECOM Hydrogeologist in Thornhill, Ontario

AECOM is currently seeking an intermediate level clean water Hydrogeologist to join our Ontario Geosciences Team (Hydrogeology Group), based in our office in Markham, Ontario. This position will support our Environment Business Line. The Hydrogeologist will report directly to the Hydrogeology Team Lead, and will be responsible for supporting and growing operations of the Hydrogeology Group Practice Area across Ontario.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with other members of the Ontario Geosciences (Hydrogeology & Geotechnical) Team, external sub-contractors / consultants, clients, as well as professionals within other internal AECOM business lines
Undertake clean water hydrogeology technical work (field and office setting) in accordance with contract scope of work and budget, and to company, professional, quality, and legislative standards
Monitoring project performance vs. budgets and developing strategies for corrections
Identifying opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies, and add value to client service offerings
Key Performance Indicators: Quality, scope /budget compliance, SH&E, client satisfaction
3-5 years of experience in an environmental consulting, or engineering management company
Currently registered or eligible for registration with APGO (P.Geo.) and/or PEO (P.Eng.)
Experience with groundwater resources, hydrogeological assessments, MECP Permit to Take Water, construction dewatering, groundwater monitoring and/or groundwater modeling
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Valid driver’s license and vehicle for business travel (local and out of town)
Working consulting experience and knowledge of provincial and federal acts and policies
Advanced degree in Geology or Hydrogeology preferred ie. Graduate degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering or Environmental Science
Solid technical skills and experience
Established interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dedication to developing and maintaining lasting client partnerships (internally and externally)
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Experience with groundwater remediation and Environmental Site Assessment projects an asset
Proven strengths in becoming well integrated with a national group and collaborating in a team environment to develop, execute successful projects.
