AECOM has been appointed to deliver our global client's Retail’s Capital Development Programme in the Benelux and developing towards a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050. During this period AECOM will provide Engineering Procurement and Construction Services to our client in an end to end delivery process with a focus on safety and operational excellence. AECOM is currently building a dedicated team with experts for this programme.

As a Project Manager you will become part of a growing AECOM Benelux team with offices in The Netherlands and Belgium, reporting to the Operations Manager.

AECOM Netherlands

The AECOM team in the Netherlands consists of approximately 110 employees and operates from our headquarters in The Hague and from multiple site hubs throughout the country. Representative services include Engineering & Construction, Environmental, Transportation and Health & Safety.

Role Summary

As a Project Manager Maintenance & Refurbishments you deliver end-to-end project services within programme deadlines and are responsible for the projects (time, cost, quality) of various filling/retail station projects. This includes asset integrity management and managing the delivery of client’s and our HSSE requirements as well as delivering savings on projects where appropriate.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a track record safe operational delivery. It is essential to have a strong interaction with the Client Team to maintain seamless communications and client confidence throughout the project delivery progress.

With strong management and leadership skills to motivate contractors and colleagues you provide excellence in execution and to cope with the fast moving and extremely demanding programme!

Tasks and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Leading Project Meetings to deliver all the stages of project development; delivery and close out, for example, scoping visits; design reviews; post tender meetings; cost

  • plan reviews; pre-start meetings; regular site progress meetings; high quality handovers; financial close meetings; and safety audits

  • Attending regular safety meetings, ensuring messages are conveyed to the operational staff and contractors and managing the safety messages into the projects

  • and audit to give confidence that safety is being implemented in accordance with client and AECOM HSSE processes and procedures.

  • Ensuring compliance to all brand standards of the FMC project while giving the solutions sufficient flexibility to meet the needs of the client

  • Managing the supply chain partners will form a large part of this role; the candidate’s duty is to ensure that they perform to required and agreed project execution plans to meet the clients desired outcome

  • Ensuring that work is delivered within the agreed values of AECOM and the client.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operational role.

  • Recognized construction or design qualification (or similar experience).

  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills.

  • A leading example in compliance and ethics.

  • HSSE Leadership.

  • Confident and capable individual with strong client focus.

  • Experienced in managing a diverse operational team.

  • Strong track record in delivering projects in a fast moving and challenging environment.

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight dead-lines.

  • Good grasp of IT, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Valid driving licence.

  • VCA certified.

  • Petrochemical knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
