Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer I to be based in Austin, TX.
This position is expected to begin in May 2022

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Develop hydrology models using a variety of methods and software
Develop 1D and 2D hydraulic models that simulate steady-state and unsteady flow regimes using the latest software
Product maps, reports and geodatabases to communicate the results of the hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to industry professionals, public officials, and the public
Work under the supervision of a license Professional Engineer
Minimum Requirements
BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis in water from an ABET-accredited university.
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software(HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks, StormCAD/CivilStorm, WaterGEMs, etc)
Understanding of hydrology and hydraulic processes supported by relevant coursework
Familiar with geographic information systems (GIS) software
Has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
Strong computer skills including working knowledge of MicroSoft Word and Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication will be needed to coordinate with technical and non-technical staff.
