AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Roadway Engineer for immediate employment in the Tampa, FL office. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in performing engineering analysis for roadway associated with Transportation Projects. As an AECOM roadway engineer, you can look forward to projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout Florida. You will also be responsible for developing strong working relationships with clients and staff plus maintain a high level of project standards and meeting or ideally exceeding client expectations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performs engineering analysis and plans preparation associated with roadway infrastructure improvements
Works under the direction of senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation projects
Understands applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures
Assists in development of roadway geometrics, pavement design, and preparation of quantities
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
2+ years of engineering experience
Engineering Intern (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months)
Perform roadway design and production for transportation projects including calculations and plans preparation
Prior experience as roadway engineer on transportation projects
Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
Must be able to communicate effectively; verbal and written
Experience some of the following software: Geopak, Inroads, Corridor Modeling, Autoturn, Microstation or other equivalent CAD software
Florida Licensed Professional Engineer
Experience in design of roadway geometrics and plans preparation in compliance with FDOT standards
Experience in design with pedestrian improvement projects
