AECOM Project Architect in Tampa, Florida

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Project Architect with extensive design and technical experience to join our busy aviation and transit practice that ranges from Maine to Florida. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager, you will lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects

  • Plans, directs, and leads all technical staff in successful execution of projects in design and construction.

  • Manages and leads design and construction administration projects

  • Manages and leads all technical areas using established processes and tools

  • Prepares design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools

  • Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Supports communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

  • Contributes to projects on a local, regional, or national basis achieving quality outcomes, positive financial performance, and client satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Architecture and ten (10) years of relevant experience

  • Registered Architect

  • Florida professional registration in Architecture or ability to achieve Florida registration through NCARB Certification.

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in Architecture or Engineering leading multidisciplinary teams on business development (e.g., project proposals) and project deliverables (e.g., technical reports, studies, construction documents) is strongly preferred

  • Experience developing and delivering executive level presentations

  • Ability to be client facing and lead client discussions and charrettes

  • Revit and BIM capable as well as experience particularly with cloud based multi-phased multipackage delivery.

  • Expertise in Photoshop, and InDesign. Proficiency in Illustrator and Premier.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, InDesign, and software such as Rhino, SketchUp, or other visualization tools.

  • Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated team-building ability and internal/ external networking skills

  • Ability to interact regularly and professionally with senior management and technical staff in other offices on business development and project execution issues

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

  • Proven organizational skills with a proven track record in client satisfaction
