The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate the work with the client so that they are fully aware of upcoming activities that could adversely impact their business. Seek out solutions prior to work being performed.
Determine compliance in the field with the construction contract requirements and approved shop drawings. Participate in first deliveries and verify compliance against approved submittals.
Prepare detailed daily reports, including tracking manpower , equipment, and deliveries to the site, including taking progress photos and maintain inspection records
Review QA plans submitted by the contractor
Verify compliance with applicable regulations controlling work including OSHA
Monitor construction progress verifying scheduled activities are being performed on time and report activities that show have started and are behind schedule
Observes work in progress to determine acceptable workmanship in accordance with the contract documents
Monitor any Time and Material work authorized by the client.
Assist in the review and verification of change orders submitted for client approval.
Monitor that field as-builts are being updated on a monthly basis by all trades
Thorough knowledge of inspection principles, practices, and procedures, applicable laws, and relevant government regulations
Ability to adjust to changing job environments and desire to work in the field
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong desire to continuously improve technical skills and quality
Available for work/travel outside normal office hours & inter-departments, as required
Work well under pressure with an organized approach to managing tasks, time and workload
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and ability to relocate to project sites
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
5+ years of related inspection experience
