AECOM Environmental Planning Manager in Tampa, Florida

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly talented Environmental Planning Manager for immediate employment in the Tampa, FL office. The Tampa Impact Assessment and Permitting (IAP) group conducts a wide variety of projects including environmental field assessments, environmental regulatory permitting, environmental inspection, and many others. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing and growing an IAP team in Tampa. The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment with colleagues in the ecology team as well as other technical disciplines on a wide range of projects. The group works on projects throughout Florida as part of AECOM’s regional ecological group and provides support on large-scale multi-disciplinary projects. The candidate will be a team player with a strong aptitude for hard work, client care, project delivery, and development of innovative, cost effective solutions in a working environment that is collaborative, stimulating, and demanding.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Markets department capabilities through interaction with AECOM technical experts throughout Florida and by meeting with key clients and potential clients discussing capabilities and technical expertise

  • Finds and pursues business opportunities by networking with clients as well as within the industry to develop business relationships

  • Uses knowledge of ecological services to cross sell AECOM capabilities

  • Develops business opportunities in the public and private sectors

  • Supports business line marketing initiatives and assist with proposals

  • Provides technical expertise and internal reviews on deliverables

  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or other closely related field

  • 8+ years of task and project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of biological assessments, wetland delineations, technical reports, Section 401/404 permitting, and mitigation requirements

  • Experience working with clients (new and existing) and marketing AECOM capabilities and technical expertise for new business

  • Comfortable presenting in-person or via webinars

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently

  • Positive professional attitude

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and resolve complex natural resource issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or other closely related field

  • Working relationships with state and federal regulators
