AECOM Entry Level Bridge Design Engineer in Tampa, Florida

Job Summary
AECOM’s Tampa office is responsible for a wide variety of bridge and transportation-related structures’ ranging from conventional overpasses, complex interchanges and signature structures including segmental, extradoses and cable-stay bridges. Candidate should have excellent engineering and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to our bridge design team. This is an entry-level bridge engineer position. With continued experience, the candidate is expected to achieve the PE license and assume increasing levels of responsibility for design and project assignments
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed below:
Preparing and checking design calculations for bridges and other transportation related structures
Drawing review and checking
Quantity calculations
Shop drawing review
Preparation of reports and specifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mathcad, MicroStation software and be familiar with at least one structural analysis software package
Candidate should be detail oriented and should have strong skills in structural analysis, steel, and concrete design; and the ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, and a willing desire to learn
Passed FE Exam, or able to obtain FE within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Internship or co-op experience
Experience in Florida DOT projects
