Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer in our Tampa, FL office.

This position is expected to begin in August 2023.

This entry-level position will involve electrical design for a variety of new and upgrades to existing water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities. Design of low voltage and medium voltage electrical power distribution systems for heavy industrial water/wastewater applications, as well as, traditional building services.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform electrical system designs including:

  • Switchgear

  • Switchboards

  • Motor control centers

  • Variable frequency drives

  • Generators

  • Transformers

  • Distribution panels, and

  • Other electrical power distribution systems components

  • Perform design for lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security, and grounding systems.

  • Prepare design drawings including single-line diagrams, electrical plans, wiring schematics, schedules, etc.

  • Perform electrical system studies and calculations (load, harmonics, voltage drop, lighting, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash).

  • Review and coordinate instrumentation, control system process P&IDs, mechanical and HVAC systems and design its related electrical systems.

  • Support the development of electrical equipment specifications.

  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.

  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required.

  • Valid Driver's License is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 plus year of related experience.

  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry.

  • Experience with AutoCAD/Revit.

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with the ability to adapt to project deadlines.

  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
