AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our Remediation team in Florida in our Orlando, Tallahassee, or Jacksonville offices. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.
This position is expected to begin in October 2021.
This position will support our growing Energy Business Line. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Strong willingness to learn wide array of field activities including air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater and sediment sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and the oversight of investigation and remediation subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies
Assist with gathering and analyzing geological and hydrogeological data in both the field and office settings
Strong technical background
Assist in preparation of investigation reports and drawings
Learn and develop a keen understanding of hazard recognition
Ability to travel up to 50% to various job sites
- BS Degree in Geology or Environmental Science or related field with a strong desire to learn new skills in the remediation field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 – 2 hour drive of home office, and occasionally further.
Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
Strong research and report writing (including web-based research).
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Strong quality and time management.
Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
