Prepare, analyse, and perform statistical sampling on Canadian Indirect tax filings (HST, QST, PST and Withholding Tax)
Coordinate and track tax payments
Maintain monthly tax payment schedule
Support operations and AP/AR staff with project and billing related tax issues and provide recommendations
Support operations on corrective procedures when identifying tax errors
Perform system testing and data analysis related to indirect tax controls and processes
Assist the reconciliation team with research and investigate discrepancies
Provide support for the commodity tax audits ensuring requested information is provided on a timely basis and supporting any gaps or findings.
Assist with research on applicable Canada and other International indirect tax laws and applicability to relevant contracts and/or audits and provide written guidance or recommendations to manager
Solve problems while handling multiple assignments
Perform special projects as assigned
Escalate and analyse identified issues and concerns to the Team Lead for timely resolution.
Maintain the SOP/DTP of current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required.
Perform simple but varied tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, and procedures.
Assess identified issues and collate documentation to assist in investigating and in resolving common and recurring issues.
Support selected simple process improvement initiatives to streamline processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant courses
3-4 years of relevant professional experience in Finance or Accounting with background in Canadian international tax research
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools
Working knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and procedures and internal controls.
Experience working with ERP, e.i., Oracle and Blackline Systems is an advantage, but is not required.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a varied audience and internal and external customers. (Communication)

Ability to be thorough and meticulous in completing assigned tasks and identifying errors, duplicates, & discrepancies through defined methods. (Attention to Detail)
