Job Description
Job SummaryDue to recent project wins and a strong pipeline of work, AECOM’s Civil Infrastructure group Rail Team in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth have exciting opportunities for proven Systems Engineers to join our growing team.
In this role, you will be exposed to a range of projects, stakeholders, and clients providing you with an opportunity to apply your experience on major rail projects. Current local, national and international projects include light rail, metro, passenger rail, freight rail, fast rail and high-speed rail. Based in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth you will become a key member of our national Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team and will contribute to the wider AECOM Rail and Civil Infrastructure teams.
The role covers end to end management and implementation of systems engineering and supporting various national and international rail projects. We have roles available in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth for Graduate, Senior and Principal level systems engineers and encourage all levels to apply. We provide a great team working environment with development opportunities, on small medium and large projects, for Graduates and Junior Engineers that have experience in systems engineering and are seeking to further develop their career with a company that cares about your development.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Work autonomously to deliver systems engineering on heavy rail and light rail projects
Lead the systems engineering and requirements management functions on rail projects
Produce and manage systems engineering and requirements management deliverables
Facilitate and lead design teams and clients through requirements verification and validation process
Support and develop the AECOM systems engineering discipline
Develop and enhance AECOM’s wider appreciation, knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering
Work collaboratively on national and international projects to support AECOMs SESA Hub
Demonstrate and lead AECOM’s culture – make it happen, support your team, embrace new and different
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have post graduate experience on civil and rail projects
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Systems Engineering, Civil, Mechatronics, Electronics, and Software are well regarded
Working knowledge and thorough understanding of systems engineering and requirements management
Rail or Transit sector knowledge including light rail, heavy rail, fast rail, high-speed rail, freight rail
Technical experience and knowledge of the full systems engineering lifecycle
Understands the application of system engineering with respect to ISO 15288, ISO 29148, EN 50126/8/9
Preferred Qualifications·
- Engineering degree and qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline
