AECOM Senior Transport Planner in Sydney, Australia

Job Summary

The Opportunity

Our Transport Advisory team is looking for an engaged Senior Transport Planner to lead the delivery of movement and place focussed solutions for our clients. Working closely with clients, the role will focus on leading and managing projects in the transport planning space, particular in the areas of strategic transport planning and travel demand management. The role will provide you with experience on some of Australia’s most significant transport planning and infrastructure projects, while further developing your skills as a project lead or manager.

The successful individual will use their experience in strategic transport planning, project delivery and management to help drive exceptional outcomes. You will have a proven track record of being part of a high performing team of planners, analysts or communications specialists in developing technical solutions to clients’ problems through high-quality delivery.

You will bring fresh, diverse thinking and are prepared to challenge the status quo to deliver industry-leading advice on urban mobility to address the critical challenges of tomorrow. You will have a desire for broadening and applying your knowledge to find new and different ways for achieving project outcomes.

The successful individual will be empowered to lead or support complex projects for both government and private sector clients. You will be passionate about delivering excellence and be entirely customer focussed.

You will be capable of delivering technical work with some guidance from more senior staff, as well as being supportive and highly collaborative with team members and clients.

  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline

  • Good technical skills, knowledge and experience in strategic transport planning

  • Experience developing travel demand management strategies, active transport plans or behavioural change programs is desirable

  • Demonstrated experience delivering proposals and leading or managing projects for clients, with an understanding of good client service

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Experience working in successful project teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline
