Job Description

The infrastructure pipeline in NSW continues to grow, and AECOM is playing an influential role in the development and delivery of many of the key infrastructure programs and projects.

As a result, AECOM is seeking applications from experienced Rail Engineers to join our growing Rail team in Sydney and support existing projects and pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, consulting environment on some of the region’s largest projects, whilst expanding and developing your career within the Rail Infrastructure space. You will have access to projects involving feasibility studies, tender designs, detailed design and construction support on complex, multidisciplinary projects that deliver high standard outcomes for AECOM and its clients. As part of a multi-disciplinary organisation, this role will see you collaborating with other disciplines associated with delivery of railway projects, giving you wider exposure and understanding.

Job Summary and Key Duties

We are seeking qualified Professional and Senior Rail Engineers to join the Sydney Rail Team. Reporting to the Track and Civil Lead, you will be responsible for developing track and civil design solutions on some of Australia’s largest engineering projects.

Key Duties Will Include:

  • Working with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to identify requirements and develop sound engineering solutions;

  • Produce high quality track and civil designs from proposals through concept design to construction;

  • Working with other rail and civil disciplines to deliver multidiscipline projects;

  • Self-checking of your own work as well as your colleague’s work before issuing to our clients;

  • Demonstrate strong client management skills;

  • Deliver to clients and AECOMs expectations of quality, time, and cost.

Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering rail design in multi-disciplinary environments;

  • Ability to build, maintain and manage strong client relationships and have worked closely with discipline technical leads;

  • Develop and retain a high level of technical skill;

  • Provide high quality technical advice to clients and ensures that the needs of clients are understood and met;

  • Engineering degree and qualifications in one of the railway engineering disciplines (Civil).
