AECOM Professional Engineer (Pavements) in Sydney, Australia

Job Summary

Due to ongoing growth and some exciting project wins, AECOM is seeking a Professional Pavement Engineer to join our Sydney office.

Our Pavement team has several long-term, TfNSW road upgrade projects, which provide solid workload. Our pavement team works on projects that include: new pavements (e.g. major highways/motorways, local roads, rural highways, unsealed roads, haul roads, airfield pavements, heavy duty port pavements etc.), rehabilitation designs, geotechnical investigations (scoping and undertaking), material testing and pavement management advisory services.

You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a young and developing team of pavement engineers working and you will be involved with projects from the earliest stages of planning, ground investigation, design, all the way through to construction and operational management phases.

Your experience will enable you to immediately contribute to the team. However, ongoing personal development is a major driver of the AECOM business. AECOM provides support and mentoring locally and from the greater ANZ business to ensure our staff develop the skills and experience necessary to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.

Your role will include new pavement design, rehabilitation design, testing and pavement management advisory services. As part of this role you will be given the opportunity to travel and work on a range of assignments across Australia and New Zealand.

You will also assist in preparation of bids and proposals and attend meetings with contractors and clients, both external and internal and work on multi-disciplinary project design teams. Depending on your interest there is scope to become involved in the management of projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential)

  • Experience in using pavement design software (essential)

  • Willingness to travel for limited periods.

  • A current NSW driver’s license (or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Post-graduate qualifications (highly valued).
