Job Summary

An exciting, permanent role has become available in our Sydney office for a lawyer with 5 years PAE to join our national legal team. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, NSW/ACT, the successful candidate will provide legal advice within a large multinational engineering consultancy firm which delivers services to blue-chip clients across a range of key markets including transportation, facilities, environment, energy, oil & gas, water, buildings and government.

You will be working with driven professionals across various end-markets who are industry leaders and passionate about being a part of a company that is dedicated to delivering a better world.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing request for tender and expression of interest documentation

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating major consultancy and construction contracts with large infrastructure and developer clients

  • Advising on commercial strategies for project proposals

  • Managing professional indemnity claims and disputes, including liaising with insurers and project teams on strategy

  • Advising on ad hoc corporate matters, including employment issues, intellectual property, ethics and compliance and governance

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of post-admission experience

  • Previous experience in a top tier law firm and/or in-house experience in a multinational consultant or contractor will be viewed favourably

  • Demonstrated track record of adding value to a diverse and dynamic business

  • Tertiary qualification in law and admission to practice in NSW (or eligibility for such)

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Ambitious, driven and pragmatic, with a strong work ethic and down to earth attitude
