Job Summary
This is an exciting role that will see you providing technical building sustainability advice within our Sustainability Practice. With a history of working on some of the most influential building and policy projects, our Sustainability Practice comprises a team of specialists working collectively and virtually across Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington.
Your primary role will be advising our clients on all matters pertaining to sustainability, particularly for buildings, with a focus on sustainable design optimisation and climate change mitigation. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the wider precinct and infrastructure team for the right candidate.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Generating strategic partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
Providing industry leadership through presenting at and attending industry and AECOM events.
Work with our wider team to participate in pursuing new project opportunities.
Providing clear, consistent, evidence-based and up-to-date advice and communication to clients on the general science of climate change and the need to address the climate crisis.
Maintaining current working knowledge of the industry and economy-wide issues (codes, legislation, initiatives and so on) related to climate change and its impacts on our clients’ businesses.
Undertaking technical sustainability investigations and design discipline coordination to optimise design and generate efficiencies. This will include advising a variety of built environment assets such as commercial offices, education facilities, hospitals, airports, industrial buildings, and data centres.
Minimum Requirements
Be a passionate communicator and leader with prior’ experience related to sustainable buildings to drive optimum design and engineering outcomes.
Have tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental science/management, urban planning or engineering.
Have experience using sustainability/wellness rating tools (Green Star (GBCA), WELL Building Standard (IWBI), NABERS, LEED, Infrastructure Sustainability (ISCA) will be well regarded) and ideally hold accredited status with some of these organisations.
Having experience any of the following will be highly regarded:
Facilitation of workshops and stakeholder management
Whole-of-life net present value analysis
Energy and water auditing and associated savings opportunities feasibility studies
Life cycle assessment (LCA) / eTool, Simapro or similar
Building energy simulation / IES-VE or similar
Parametric building simulation / Grasshopper, Ladybug and the like
Have demonstrated experience in working with multidisciplinary teams.
Take a client-facing and outcome-oriented approach to project delivery.
Demonstrate experience in preparing technical design documentation and reporting.
Be able to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of outputs.
Be able to work autonomously and take responsibility for the quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines, including travel as required.
Possess excellent communication skills in all media – written, presentation, facilitation.
Preferred Qualifications
Have tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental science/management, urban planning or engineering.
