AECOM Practice Lead - Consulting + Technology in Sydney - AU, Australia

Job Summary

We are currently offering the right candidate a rare opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary specialist engineering group; our NSW and ACT ‘Consulting and Technology’ Practice. Our Consulting and Technology Practice comprises a number of specialist building engineering disciplines, including acoustics, sustainability, ICT, audio visual, security, fire engineering and digital solutions.

You will be joining a large building engineering group, which, outside of the specialist disciplines, also provides a large range of other services, including building services, structures and facades, and cost management. We work collaboratively to share skills and deliver projects of great significance across markets such as healthcare, education, commercial and aviation.

About you:

Ideally you will be a practitioner in one of our core fields, with a broad perspective on delivering consulting services within the building industry, and a strong people leadership focus. Your direct reports will be leaders of each of the specialist teams, providing you ample scope to demonstrate your capacity as a people leader. You will also be a capable work winner, with skills in business development and resource planning, as well as financial and commercial acumen.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Attracting and retaining high performing team members;

  • Fostering a culture of quality, technical excellence, and consistent work delivery and execution;

  • Developing an internal and external personal brand as a recognised ‘key face of the practice’;

  • Driving consistency in delivery of service and product to clients;

  • Supporting major pursuits relating to the wider business;

  • Undertaking business development;

  • Resource planning;

  • People leadership and performance management;

  • Leading our engagement with industry bodies and at client events

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering or science degree in a relevant discipline

  • Demonstrated track record as a practitioner in at least one of the specialist building engineering disciplines mentioned;

  • Demonstrated track record as a team leader.
