Job Description

Our rail business is now growing considerably and we are searching for a Signalling Designer to join us here at AECOM in the Swindon office.

With a strong understanding of the technical and business aspects of the rail-signalling industry, the Signalling Designer will participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, providing technical support to the discipline in terms of production and mentoring where required.

As a Signalling Designer, you will be part of an engineering team contributing to the production of signalling designs to time, budget, safety and specification as well as supporting the Signalling CRE / Design Manager with additional duties, as required, such as progress/programme reporting, production of guidance notes etc.

Role Description

  • Produce deliverables in accordance with client and governance requirements for signalling and associated projects

  • Design of signalling projects to deliver to defined timescales and budget

  • Produce signalling designs and documentation at a consistent and acceptable level of quality

  • Mentor junior members of the signalling discipline as required

  • Maintain knowledge of current practices, processes, standards and emerging technologies in relation to the signalling discipline

Qualifications

  • Holder of 1.1.510 Signalling Designer licence

  • Experience of delivering signalling design as part of multi-disciplinary rail systems projects

  • Experienced in the use of Bentley MicroStation

  • Institution membership; IRSE, IET/ Institution registration; IEng, CEng
