Job Summary
About you
We’re looking for a degree educated and passionate individual who can demonstrate experience in engaging stakeholders or delivering effective communications to support complex projects.
You will have experience or interest in industry sectors relevant to our business (e.g. transport, energy, water, residential development, commercial development), and will be confident engaging a variety of stakeholder groups.
You will also have good personal communication skills, will need to work flexibly and be willing to travel.
Knowledge of UK planning and environmental policy developments related to stakeholder participation and engagement would be an advantage.
Your role
You will have the opportunity to work on projects that are transforming infrastructure across the UK. Your role will include:
Assisting with the management and delivery of a range of stakeholder engagement projects, with a focus on pre-planning application consultation and engagement for infrastructure development projects.
Supporting the growth of the stakeholder engagement service across AECOM, with a focus on providing advice and support to teams across the UK. This will require working collaboratively and iteratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
Supporting the identification of new business opportunities and associated proposal development, which will include promoting AECOM’s stakeholder engagement service to both internal and external audiences
Reporting to the design team leader you will also interface directly with other team members, from graduate to Directors and with other internal design teams
You will have strong development skills and have the ability to develop and manage the work of others if and when required.
Our team
Our rapidly growing stakeholder engagement service plays a key role in delivering major infrastructure and development projects.
Our work revolves around engagement, consultation and communications during the consenting or construction phase of projects. We have been involved in a range of high-profile projects in the UK, across a range of sectors including:
HS2, Phases 1 and 2;
A303 Stonehenge, A46 and A428 highway schemes for Highways England;
Major station and network upgrade works at Waterloo and Kings Cross for Network Rail;
Burgess Hill development for Homes England;
Thames Tideway Tunnel, Thames Water; and
Multiple energy and waste management facilities.
The team comes from a wide range of backgrounds, and we would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience of stakeholder engagement, consultation or communications.

Minimum Requirements
Experience of delivering stakeholder engagement, statutory consultation or communications for complex projects, ideally related to infrastructure development;
Experience or interest in industry sectors relevant to AECOM’s business (e.g. transport, energy, water, residential development, commercial development);
Passionate about delivering effective communications with a high standard of personal communication skills;
Confident engaging with people in different sectors and disciplines, presenting to peers and clients, and communicating with statutory and com
