About the Business Line:
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. AECOM is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Engineer with a bias to below ground drainage and private road design to join a well-established team in our St Albans office in Hertfordshire.
As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the production of technical designs report writing, flood risk assessments, schematic designs, drawings and specifications for infrastructure projects associated with public and privately funded developments as well as international projects. As an infrastructure engineer you must have the ability to liaise with and coordinate designs with other specialists within AECOM and with external organisations such 3rd party design and local authorities.
You will be required to work using your own initiative and drive with supervision and overview from the associate director and principal engineer.
Work must be completed in accordance with AECOM quality and Health & Safety requirements and financial constraints.
The ideal applicant will be required to have good and professional communication skills both oral and written and the ability to use computer modelling and design software associated with below ground drainage designs, earthworks and specification writing.(i.e. Microdrainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, NBS Buildings and NBS Create).
You must be experienced in the production of detailed design information, technical reports, drawings, tender documents & specifications, integration with BIM for public and private developments, and familiar with Design Standards such as Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, National Planning Policy Framework, Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM and LEED, the Specifications for Highways works and other relevant British Infrastructure regulations.
You must be experienced in drainage infrastructure to adoptable standards including the negotiation of Section 104 and 106. Having experience in international projects will be a benefit.
- It would be beneficial for the candidate to be working towards Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
