AECOM Control Room Operations Floor Lead (Lansing Center) in Southfield, Michigan

Job Summary

  • Responsible for all real-time, shift leadership aspects of the control room’s operation, to include: overseeing active incidents, personal scheduling, monitoring and reporting (if needed), equipment functionality, and maintaining active communications (as events predicate) with other stakeholders

  • Conduct personnel performance auditing assessments, tracking results.

  • Responsible for documentation updates and file management.

  • Oversees all Operator secondary responsibilities, assuring expectations are being met and the appropriate training has been provided for the proper execution of said functions.

  • Responsible for ensuring that approved schedules are adhered to (Overtime, call offs, vacation coverage, etc.

  • Identifies root cause for performance failures, potential improvements/enhancement opportunities.

  • Assume the role of operator should staffing level dictate the need

  • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures (to include desk assignments, dress codes and breaks).

  • Organize and coordinate all employee training, initial and recurrent training.

  • Assist with FOIA requests and properly document who received the information.

  • Provide assistance with post incident reporting and feedback.

  • Fully certified in all control room systems.

  • Promote a positive environment for all staff members, leading by example, mentoring subordinates, and maintaining high morale.

  • Review Control Room Operator applicant assist in conducting interviews and recommending new hires.

  • Other projects as assigned by the operations manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 4 years' supervisory experience

  • Previous lead or supervisor experience

  • Have familiarity with local freeways and arterial roads

  • Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally

  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple, diverse and simultaneous inputs

  • Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
