AECOM Inspector Of Works (24-month renewable contract) in Shatin, N.T., Hong Kong

Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate requirement for an Inspector of Works to work on a large multi-disciplinary private project in Hong Kong. The project is located at Sai Sha, Shap Sze Heung, Sai Kung. The general nature of the proposed works include widening of Sai Sha Road between Sai O Village and Tai Tung Village from a 2-lane carriageway to a dual 2-lane carriageway; construction of a new carriageway from Tai Tung Village to Tseng Tau Village; construction of three footbridges near Nai Chung, Kwan Hang and Ma Kwu Lam Village; construction of footpaths and cycle tracks; and ancillary works including earthworks, drainage works, sewage and sewerage works, landscaping works, construction of box culverts, retaining walls, reconstruction of existing open space public carpark and public bus terminus and construction of noise barriers;

The works have commenced in 2018 with anticipated completion date in 4th quarter of Year 2024.

The successful applicant would be offered a 24-month contract initially and subject to renewal depending on the project’s ongoing needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the general supervision of work done by the Contractor and check whether it complies with specifications, drawings and approved method statement;

  • Report to professional staff on site problems, progress, quality of workmanship, etc.

  • Maintain site records;

  • Assign works to RAlOW and RWS daily and providing guidance and instruction;

  • Deal with any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by his superior.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/college or equivalent in an appropriate discipline with at least 7 years relevant post-qualification experience; or

  • Higher Certificate from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/college or equivalent in an appropriate discipline with at least 8 years relevant experience inclusive of 5 years relevant post-qualification experience; or

  • At least 4 years appropriate experience as Assistant Inspector of Works

Location: Sai Sha Road, Shap Sze Heung, Sai Kung, N.T.
