AECOM Chief Legal Counsel, Hong Kong (Ethics and Compliance, Asia) in Shatin, N.T., Hong Kong

Job Summary



  • Act as business partner and trusted legal advisor to operations

  • Carry out contract reviews for Hong Kong and advising the business in relation to legal and commercial risks

  • Day to day carriage of claims and dispute resolution processes

  • Provide general legal advice to operations and other group services teams including but not limited to employment advice, intellectual property etc.

  • Participate in internal approvals/risk committee processes

  • Provide periodic legal reports to Chief Counsel, Asia and HK management

Ad hoc projects (legal research; update standard forms contract templates, guidelines, Ecosystem pages)

  • Promoting risk management culture within AECOM

Ethics & Compliance, Asia

  • Oversee E&C programme, including systems, procedures, and policies

  • Legal point of contact for all E&C systems:

  • Work with Corporate E&C Office on system enhancement/ change management

  • Act as Asia project manager for system rollouts

  • Conduct internal investigations - Awareness programme – i.e., Safeguard360, trainings, (preparing) guidelines

Minimum Requirements


  • Admission in the High Court of Hong Kong and practising certificate in Hong Kong with at least 12-15+ years PQE. Candidates with more experience would also be considered

  • Experience in construction and engineering contract reviews and/or disputes an advantage

  • Demonstrated experience in Taiwan and speaking Putonghua is an advantage

  • Working as a Chief Counsel or General Counsel is an advantage

  • Possibility of advancement to Deputy Chief Counsel, Asia for the right candidate

  • Self-motivated with high personal drive for achievements and success

  • Knowledgeable in IT tools including business and engineering software and applications

  • Excellent command in written & spoken English while Chinese language skills may be preferred
