AECOM Resident Building Services Inspector in Shatin, Hong Kong

Job Summary

  1. Supervise building services contractors for the Building Conversion and Improvement Projects at City University of Hong Kong

  2. Assist the Project Building Services Engineer in all aspects of supervision of building services work on site within the contracts and the maintenance of site records.

  3. Assist in the administration and control of Assistant Building Services Inspector and Works Supervisory grade staff.

  4. Monitor labour resources, progress, materials and equipment used on site.

  5. Responsible for the upkeep of site records including site record books and submission of all monthly returns.

  6. Liaise and co-ordinate with other contractors, utility companies, client and government departments on site matters.

  7. Solve minor disputes/conflicts between various contractors, utility companies, client and government departments on site.

  8. Ensure the correct materials and equipment are delivered to site by contractors and that only those approved materials and equipment are installed.

  9. Assist in the checking of any site measurements of building services works and payments claimed by contractors.

  10. Assist in the site survey of existing building services installations during the construction stage, including submission of proposals for additional, alteration or repair works.

  11. Inspect and witness the testing and commissioning of building services installations.

  12. Monitor the progress of building services outstanding works and defects rectification works.

  13. Assist the Project Building Services Engineer in the checking of building services operation and maintenance manuals and as-fitted drawings submitted by various contractors.

  14. Carry out all such other duties as directed by the Project Building Services Engineer.

Minimum Requirements

  1. A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Hong Kong Institute of Technology , or equivalent; and

  2. Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or equivalent; and

  3. 8 years’ relevant post-qualification experience including 4 years working experience in the capacity of Building Services Inspector, or equivalent.

Less working experience will be also considered.
