A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Manager to join a multinational operating in over 100 countries. In this Role you will be responsible for supporting the Asia operation (Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and South East Asia) in the delivery of statutory accounts, financial accounting and tax reporting as well as ensuring that policies and standard processes are in place across the business. The role will be broad, hands-on, challenging and highly rewarding for the successful individual. This role will report to the Finance Director.
Align and co-ordinate across Asia Controllership, Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Risks & Controls teams.
Lead and co-ordinate with F&A teams in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and South East Asia.
Participate in any ad hoc projects assigned to drive global and local initiatives.
Ensure internal processes and controls are well-controlled and reviewed as well as in compliance.
Actively manage SSC for different processes, e.g., payroll, payable, billings, receivables, etc.
Standardise accounting policies adopted by different regions.
Provide lessons learnt and refreshment trainings.
Ensure and review Asia reporting processes and local statutory accounts are prepared.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are performed with quality and on a timely manner.
Monitor the overall intercompany process for Asia and ensure intercompany balances, allocations and loans are cleared on a timely basis.
Review of B/S reconciliations prepared by SSC and ensure all aged items have commentary and are being investigated.
Assist and co-ordinate with external accountants and statutory auditors.
Assist on Corporate, withholding tax calculation and review.
Involve in tax quarterly reporting.
Coordinate and manage external tax consultants.
Assist and review on treasury processes.
Ensure bank mandates / credit cards ownership are up to date at any given point.
Manage banking relationships.
Risks & Controls
Work with regional finance teams to assist the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Internal Controls Certificate reporting.
Support management in the establishment of new procedures and risk control measures.
Conduct review of business operations to provide value-adding recommendations and initiate process improvement and remediation.
Degree educated or equivalent in Accounting or similar.
Ideally qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA or similar.
5-10 year experience in similar role, preferably in a multinational.
Experience managing multiple tasks in complex environment.
Practical experience of US group audit or a US reporting environment.
