Job Summary
Aecom West Aviation is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager/ NW Aviation Lead:
The Transportation Business Line is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager/Aviation Lead for the Seattle/NW Region Airports. The Senior Project Manager will report to Aviation Division Lead. The role will appeal to someone who is highly motivated to develop and drive a successful business development in the Region. Aviation Lead responsibilities include:
Responsible for driving the growth, strategy and sale of AECOM’s services to the Aviation sector, to include key strategic customers and partners in the NW Region.
Works with the other business lines and market sector leaders in the region to ensure strategic business growth;
Builds strong relationships and interacts with clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the Aviation industry, serving as an ambassador for AECOM;
Drawing on technical expertise, directs the development of capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities;
Defines and mitigates risks and commercial terms during the pursuit process. Negotiates favorably contract terms and conditions, manages achievement of sales goals, gross margin, backlog, and other financial and business goals;
Key Performance Indicators: Sales, NSR bookings, book-to-burn, backlog growth, gross margin, market share, BD ROI, client satisfaction, industry leadership.
Project Manager duties include, but are not limited to:
Act as owner’s representative with the design team, the contractor and stakeholders from project inception thru project completion
Develop and manage scope, schedule and budget to meet project goals and objectives
Manage multiple small to medium-sized projects and ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations
Manage progress of design and review of plans, including stakeholder coordination, phasing and permitting by Authorities having Jurisdiction.
Perform quality assurance check of consultant’s documents.
Prepare front end contract requirements for public bidding, evaluate contractors Bid and prepare recommendations for contract award.
Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the contractors
Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies.
Establish project requirements for all areas of the project, and monitor the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria
Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions during all phases of the project i.e. inception through Close-out
Review and approve various project invoices.
Work with management to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work
Promote excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes
Promote a Safety-First approach in all matters and zero approach to accidents on projects.
Monitor and report to management on the project progress, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional business development and client care skills and keen business acumen coupled with strong business development experience and solid technical skills in transportation projects developed within a professional services environment, with consulting engineering experience;
Strong client relationships in the industry; proven industry leader
Strong leadership and group management experience and skills;
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dedication to developing lasting client partnerships (internally and externally);
An energetic and enthusiastic coach and mentor driven by diverse and challenging projects, with an ability to recognize and develop talent;
A trusted advisor and highly regarded leader who can garner client confidence;
Proven strengths in developing, executing and achieving strategic and operational plans in a team environment;
Experience in Design-Build project development and delivery would be an asset
15 plus years of Aviation Project experience.
Experience with project’s value of more than $10 million is preferred
Professional registration is preferred within 12 months of hire.
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
Knowledgeable of current technology and its effective use on the project
