Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Engineer to assist with remedial investigations, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of environmental remediation systems at various project sites throughout the Pacific Northwest. This position will involve a combination of office and field work to support projects managed primarily out of our Seattle, WA and Portland OR offices. We seek a technically proficient individual with engineering design experience and reporting skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate project methods and results in a clear, concise manner. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organization skills are desired for integration into our collaborative team-oriented offices. The individual should have a relevant environmental engineering background with an engineering degree in an appropriate discipline.
This position includes potential for growth to project management and group management responsibilities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Managing tasks related to designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining remediation systems for cleanup of environmentally contaminated sites
Participating with project teams to complete tasks related to assessments, remedial investigations, and feasibility studies at cleanup sites under CERCLA or state programs
Planning and directing environmental sampling programs and critically evaluating laboratory data
Developing technically astute conceptual site models for understanding contaminated sites
Conducting feasibility and treatability studies to evaluate remedial options
Implementing solutions and offering innovations to remediate contaminated sites
Researching and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Actively communicating in high-pace environments requiring organized decision-making

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 4 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS, 6+ years of prior environmental engineering consulting experience
Strong team worker, flexible and hard working
Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
Strong communication skills at all levels
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects at a time
Provide technical supervision of subcontractors and ensure work scopes and safety requirements are met
Ability to acquire professional engineering registration within 3 years
OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification, and current 8-hour refresher
Experience with remediation system design, construction, operation, and maintenance
Experience with site investigation techniques, developing conceptual site models, and preparing remediation strategies
Experience developing and preparing reports for environmental remediation projects
Excellent focus on health and safety
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project teams and subcontractors.
Computer proficiency with MS Office applications
