AECOM Construction Engineer I in Seattle, Washington

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Construction Engineer I. In this position, you will support the management of the construction engineering functions, quality assurance and inspections on a large number of small construction projects as part of a program to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications, contractors selection and coordination of their work, and turnover of the facilities to the client.
This is a client facing role with extensive travel of up to 50% and will be based Seattle Washington.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles.
Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work.
Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments.
Spends large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Under general supervision of Project Manager, performs routine duties.
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, review and monitor standard engineering and construction techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
Demonstrated knowledge of contractor procurement phase activities including RFI reviews and bids evaluation
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of construction work.
Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.

About DCSA—Program Management and Construction Management

BA/BS in Engineering or Construction Management
Prior internship or co-op experience supporting the execution of construction Engineering and/or construction management projects, to include site walkdowns and field inspections, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Familiarity with 2D CAD software program(s).
Ability to travel up to 50% to client site locations across the US.
1 or more years of experience supporting the execution of construction engineering and/or construction management projects, to include site walkdowns and field inspections.
Previous experience supporting accessibility construction projects.
Previous experience working on US Federal Government projects.
Experience using 2D AutoCAD software program.
Valid US Driver’s license.
