AECOM is seeking a mid-level Biologist II to join our group of natural resource professionals and support some of the Pacific Northwest’s most exciting and important projects. The position will be based out of our Seattle, Washington office.
The work will involve a combination of office and fieldwork. This position would offer work on a variety of projects and clients, with a focus on field assessments and surveys, reporting, and permit application preparation. The position will include abundant opportunities for professional growth and career development.
A successful candidate works well with others. The candidate will conduct fieldwork and prepare technical reports while interacting with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agency staff.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Collecting and analyzing biological data to determine natural resource impacts.
Conducting wetland delineation/wildlife/special status species surveys, reporting, and permitting.
Monitoring of construction activities for compliance with environmental requirements and/or permits.
Preparation of reports documenting survey/monitoring data.
Writing technical documents and permit applications.

Bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, natural resources, wildlife, fisheries science, or related field plus 2 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in habitat assessment, biological surveys, and/or related biological studies.
Position may require a substantial amount of fieldwork – must be able to walk long distances in rugged terrain/dense vegetation, etc.
Travel with limited advanced notice may be required with periodic overnight/extended travel.
Valid U.S. Driver License is required.
Familiarity with GIS computer programs.
Ability to identify common Pacific Northwest plant species.
Positive attitude; adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Highly organized with a strong detail-oriented work style.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with field data collection tools such as Collector, Trimble units, and others
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Offered rate of compensation (Washington locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $65,478 - $72,800.00
