The Transportation Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Specialist for immediate employment in the Savannah, GA office. The position would support the AECOM Environmental Transportation Practice. This role consists of:
Preparation/QAQC permit applications and environmental deliverables (including schedule management requiring interdisciplinary team coordination and ensuring schedules are updated based on changing client and/or regulatory needs) and
Guiding clients in the permitting and environmental management process to obtain environmental clearances.
Fieldwork consisting of site visits, and 404/buffer delineations as well as protected species terrestrial surveys as applicable.
Performs technical approach, quality control, data assessments, report reviews, and QA/QC.
Project management managing multiple aspects of projects and tasks as well as budgets and staffing, and schedules.
Gathers data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports; compiles and organizes environmental data collected by others.
Prepares basic data and scientific documents to include maps/figures, technical reports, agency coordination, NEPA documents, and permit applications for authorization by state and federal agencies.
Works under the supervision of senior staff but can complete all but the most complex tasks with minimal supervision.
Provide support for 404 permit applications/supporting materials as well as delineations.
Support digital data management including GIS analysis and figures.
Program management support, including project management experience, managing multiple aspects of projects and tasks as well as budgets and staffing, and schedules.
BA/BS in a related field and 4 plus years of related experience and/or education
Experience with USACE Savannah District environment projects
Experience obtaining GA DNR Coastal Resources Division agency environmental clearances and experience determining agency jurisdictionally of natural resources;
Experience with 404 permitting applications and requirements for successfully obtaining authorizations on behalf of clients;
Experience in evaluating waters of the US mitigation in Georgia;
Experience with use of RIBITS and ORM data to advance USACE consultation on projects;
Experience in ArcGIS and knowledge of databases to establish jurisdictionally of waters of the US using pre-2020 and 2020 rulings.
Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple projects, deliverables, schedules, and timelines with the ability to manage time and priorities under limited supervision;
Demonstrated leadership of interdisciplinary teams to meet deadlines and ensure project delivery;
Customer service oriented with demonstrated client-facing experience.
