Position Title Inspector IV - Saskatoon

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Inspector IV for immediate employment in the Saskatoon, SK Office. This is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Road Construction Contract Administration:
Provide resident inspection on road grading, drainage, surfacing and paving projects
Analyze field laboratory test results and implement corrective measures as required
Coordinate collection of quantity surveys and calculation of Contract pay quantities
Monitor construction progress and prepare draft progress tickets for payments to contractors each month for work done to date
Prepare final progress tickets for payments to contractors upon contract completion and final inspection approval
Specific experience with:
Earth compaction, acquiring borrow pit agreements, density and moisture testing and earth haul diagrams
Placement of granular materials including sub base, base and traffic gravel
Seal coat coverage of granular materials
Roto mixing existing road structures and re-compacting subgrade
Coring and open trenching of new culverts, extending or lining existing culverts
Surfacing roads with hot mix asphalt, including testing procedures
Road Haul agreements, Form A letters
Implement client and company safety programs, including traffic accommodation plans
Prepare job hazard assessments and participate in all required safety meetings
7+ years’ experience with road construction and survey techniques, materials testing and contract administration
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to effectively communicate with clients, members of the public and contractors
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, tender forms and special provisions
Ability to write weekly project progress report summarizing work to date
Knowledge of Provincial safety legislation and requirements on a construction site
Must possess a valid driver’s License
- 10+ years’ experience with road construction and survey techniques, materials testing and contract administration
