AECOM Safety Advisor in Sarnia, Ontario

TAMS (an AECOM Company) is seeking a Safety Advisor to join our Maintenance Services Team at our IOL Sarnia Project. This is a temporary position on a 6 day on, 1 day off rotation .
Develops and manages SH&E programs for the company, business lines, regions, and/or clients. Provides leadership and support to Operations to help the organization achieve SH&E goals and objectives. Assists the business to meet regulatory requirements relating to specific SH&E obligations e.g. trained SH&E professionals in business/projects, officer duties, statutory reporting etc.
Under general supervision performs technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with SH&E standards along with federal and provincial regulatory requirements.
Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases that could be found in the work area.
Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.

- For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
Bachelor’s Degree + 2 Years of Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Construction Safety Training Systems - 09 (CSTS-09)
First Aid - Standard Level Certification.
